CRUISE
THE TRANQUIL BALD EAGLE CREEK
This quiet 7.5 mile section of the Bald Eagle Creek meanders along Bald
Eagle Valley on one side and is nestled along Bald Eagle Ridge on the
other, making this section of stream very secluded. The put-in for this
trip is just northeast of State College (about a 25-min. drive). Most
people paddle this 7.5 mile section in 3 to 4 hours, with a lunch stop
along the way. Fishing for smallmouth bass is excellent. Wildlife sightings
are common. Keep watch for mink, turtles, fish and whitetail deer. This
is a flyway for many migratory birds. There are eagles, owls, blue and
green herons, ducks and other water-fowl that frequent the stream.

EXPLORE
THE LAKE AT BLACK MOSHANNON STATE PARK
Take some time out and come explore one of Central Pa's most unique state
park lakes. The Black Moshannon State Park is located just north of State
College (about a 30-min. drive). One of the best ways to explore the park
is by canoe or kayak. Take a picnic lunch along to enjoy at the various
picnic areas along the shoreline. Fish for trout, bass and other kinds
of fish. Paddle along the shoreline and discover the beauty of this mountain
lake. Wildlife sightings are common. Do some birding while cruising the
lake or keep watch for beaver, bear and white tail deer.
